Holiday Cottages, Cawton
The Courtyard boasts three holiday cottages: The Cake House, The Wheelhouse and The Millhouse - which can be rented separately or, for larger groups of friends and families, the houses can be booked as a group.
The Cake House is a cosy yet spacious three bedroom cottage situated in the picturesque village of Cawton, North Yorkshire. Adjoined to the property is The Wheelhouse, a stone barn conversion with four bedrooms, and The Millhouse (the perfect balance of space, comfort, and accessibility) which has three bedrooms.
Our family friendly cottages are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in one of the beautiful valleys of the Howardian Hills. Just a stone's throw from the Ebor Way, it is a perfect place for a quiet getaway with stunning rural walks and scenery from your doorstep.
Our Surroundings
With York city centre and beautiful coastal towns like Whitby, Runswick Bay and Filey less than an hours drive there is plenty for all to see and do.

Helmsley, our historic market town is just seven miles away and is not to be missed, offering lovely cafes, restaurants and shopping. It's a great day out all year round.

Our neighbouring villages Hovingham and Gilling East are both a thirty minute walk away. Our local pub in Gilling is the perfect country public house offering delicious food and a lovely friendly atmosphere.

Hovingham, a thirty minute walk down spa road bridleway, has a lot to offer for such a small village. Great childrens playpark, a pub, local store, hotel bar, cafe, village markets once a month, a beauty salon and the popular bakery by the stream.

We stayed at the Mill House over the New Year period and the property felt extremely homely, as well as being beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were also able to bring our three dogs which was massively appreciated. The Mill House is very spacious and the large open plan kitchen is an amazing space for cooking and socialising. Jennie was great to deal with, and super at responding to any queries. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. Thanks Jennie!
